Vinous Heritage & History
Our family's vinous heritage and history dates back 1883 when Salvatore Dominic Scotto, an officer in the Italian Navy, began making wine at his home on the Island of Ischia, just off the coast of Italy. In addition to making wine for his family (a long-held custom in Italy), Salvatore also treated his friends and neighbors to the fruits of his labor. Generations later the traditions are carried on by Paul Scotto, Winemaker Kahana Wines.
2021 Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon
•Tasting Notes: Bold and complex taste, with flavors of black cherry, blackcurrant, and vanilla. The wine is full-bodied, with high tannins and a long finish. It is best enjoyed with red meats and hearty dishes.
•Winemaker Notes : Layers of dark fruit and cassis include a hint of oak spice in the full, well-balanced body. The soft tannins contribute to a smooth finish. Aged 15 Months in French Oak
2020 Arroyo Seco Pinot Noir
• Tasting Notes: Elegant and floral notes of chocolate covered cherries, earthiness, black pepper, and toffee. Balance provided by bright acidity and a round velvety mouthfeel. Unmistakably Pinot Noir from Monterey.
• Winemakers Notes: Machine harvested under the lights at very cool temperatures, moved through an 82 F fermentation using a Burgundy yeast to enhance the bright fruit character. Aged 15 months in new (10%) and neutral French and American oak barrels
